As you might have picked up from my previous post, sometimes I find myself annoyed by poetry and poets - possibly a result of my obsession with the form tipping into over saturation. But sooner or later something comes along to cure my irascibility: in this case, it's the following video of Philadelphia poet C.A. Conrad reading in the snow.

The poetry is great - especially the "Book of Frank" excerpts - and it's refreshing to see someone so joyously immersed in their work.

As a bonus, searching for Conrad on YouTube let me to the off-beat "Boo Show," hosted by the wonderful Ish Klein. So perhaps I will not become a cowboy novelist. Cowboy poems, however, may still be on the agenda. . .

  1. Mr Mathews,

Hi! I came across some of your poetry while I was working at Critic last year, and would like to invite you to submit some work to my small ezine Semaphore. I couldn't find any contact details on your blog - would you be able to send me an email at semaphoremagazine@gmail.com?

    Regards,

    Marie Hodgkinson
